Cricket Batsman

George Mason University is set to build a functional cricket field at its Fairfax campus by the end of this summer, with plans for an entirely new ballpark by 2025. The university has proposed consolidating athletic facilities on its 190-acre Fairfax West Campus and collaborating with Major League Cricket (MLC) to study the possibility of building an international-level multi-purpose facility that could host both baseball and cricket games.

Sanjay Govil, owner of Washington Freedom Cricket Team and founding investor in MLC, said that as part of GMU's agreement with Washington Freedom, they would fully fund the construction of the new stadium.
